Our social therapists are master's level licensed social workers who specialize in the social-emotional wellbeing of children and their families. Individual child therapy as
well as parent/child therapy services are offered. Therapists work with families to address behavioral concerns, functional emotional development, family dynamics, peer
struggles, and provide practical solutions to day-to-day concerns.
Our social workers at CHH are team members that participate as group leaders, co-therapists in special group programs, facilitators in parent workshops and provide parent
coaching and consultation services.
Our social therapists help strengthen each child's social-emotional development by forming secure, close, trusting relationships that allow children to experience, express and regulate a myriad of emotions in a safe supportive environment.
Play is central to the growth and healing process because it is the most important way
that children learn. Through play, children gather knowledge, develop critical reasoning
skills and process experiences. As they play, children negotiate relationships, understand
emotions, and learn about themselves.
